POWERGRID, the Central Transmission Utility (CTU) of India and a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India is engaged in power transmission business with the mandate for planning, co-ordination, supervision and control over complete inter-State transmission system and operation of National & Regional Power Grids. POWERGRID operates around 1,01,379 circuit kms of transmission lines along with 169 Sub-stations (as on 30.6.2013) and wheels about 50% of total power generated in the country through its transmission network. POWERGRID, with its strong in-house expertise in various facets of Transmission, Sub-Transmission, Distribution and Telecom sectors also offers consultancy services at National and International level. POWERGRID has been making profit since inception, having Gross turnover of 13,329 Crore and Net Profit of 4235 Crore (FY:2012-13).

Educational Qualification:

2.	AMIE	Electrical	Minimum 65% with both Sections A & B cleared by 31.03.2014

Age Limit: 28 years as on 31.12.2013

Age relaxation as per govt. rules.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

·        During Training : Rs. 7.65 lakhs per annum

·        After Training : Rs. 13.4 lakhs per annum

Important Dates:

·         Online Application Starts From: first week of January 2014

·         Last Date for Submission of Online Application: Second week of February 2014
          

Note: Candidates have to register themselves and appear for GATE -2014 in Electrical Discipline (Code EE).
